Biography
Dr.
Zilch was formed in late ’97 when vocalist Nuno Fadigas teamed up with
guitarist Eduardo Krithinas and decided to finally put in practice a project
that they had in mind for a couple of years.
Roberto
de Souza, who had worked on other projects with Eduardo in the past, joined a
little later.

At
this time the band needed two more elements to complete its lineup. It was the
rhythm section. Nuno Fadigas put it together, contacting George Das Art (bass
player) in Germany and Pedro Pitta Groz (drummer).
The
name of the band, Dr. Zilch, personifies those who socially feel themselves the
all mighty, but who within the reality of our existence represent absolutely
nothing!
This
ambiguity is evident in all the foul and perverse language included in their
debut album.
Extending
itself to all socio-cultural problems of today, it goes beyond, attacking all
those who usually criticize the vices of a consumer and decadent society, but
who are hypocrites, as they're part of the same society they detest. From this
arises the essence of this project, which can be summed up in one sentence: “I
hate you… but I love you”.
This image of a Dr. Zilch exposes the human nature that in a certain way thinks of itself as “God”.
